Labors Won shawl

I started this design standing in front of a wall of Fiber Seed yarn trying to choose just the right colors for a stranded project. This was a daunting task. If you have looked at all of the glorious colors, you will know what I mean.

Eventually, I chose my colors and began to work on organic motifs that hopefully showed off the yarn and my color selections. Next steps: swatching and prototype making.

Then “Life” got in the way, and time slowed down, but I labored on, working when I could until the project was done.

When it came time to name the design, phrases like “labor of love” came to mind...which led to “Love’s Labours Lost”. But none of Love’s labors were lost…only won.

This stranded shawl is worked with 5 colors in the round with a long steek to make the color work easy to knit.
